The Metropolitan Theatre Conservatory 's outreach program has been providing the North Fulton Community and area schools with the highest quality of Arts Education and Arts Development since 1998.
We have demonstrated to school principals and to our parents that
high quality Theatre Arts Programming can have measurable
positive effects on young students through: Enhanced Language
Skills, increased confidence, articulate in verbal communication,
reinforcement of abstract reasoning skills, improved listening,
team interaction skills, and a greater overall sense of their own
potential.
The Metropolitan Theatre Conservatory is under the direction of
Arts Educator Kendrick Phillips. Ms. Phillips has also been
elected to serve as the current President of the Board of
Directors for Fulton Arts North, a not for profit, whose mission
is creating a strong cultural identity for the North Fulton
Community.Ms Phillips is also currently serving on the steering
committee for the proposed performing arts complex for North
Fulton and was the creator of the first "Arts Avenue"
for the Taste of Alpharetta this year.
Listening and responding to the needs of our school partners in arts education has been rewarding, and has enabled us to develop a wide range of theatre programming of the highest caliber for young students. From In Love with Shakespeare™ for our elementary academics to our trademarked program "Shakespeare Under-Study™, to classical theatre, to Learning all about Theatre™ for young actors.
We stri ve to educate our students in the differences between Drama and Theatre, but most of all, we have fun while we are learning. Our greatest compliments are our students.
This year the State of Georgia winner in Shakespearean Performance is one of our studen ts. Our elementary students love to perform for their schools, and also performed at the Taste of Alpharetta and for the Georgia Legislative Session in tribute to America.
We are most interested in your voice, in listening to your current needs in quality theatre arts programming, what programming, curriculums, or supplemental enrichment you would like to see introduced at your school, and to becoming your partner in theatre arts education.
